Spicy Jalapeño Margarita
Spicy Jalapeño Margarita
A twist on the classic margarita, I love the firey kick that Jalapeño brings to this. Look for smoked salt for the rim as it really makes this Jalapeño Margarita sing.
Ingredients
| Serves 2 |
1 Jalapeño
100ml fresh lime juice
100ml tequila
60 ml Cointreau
Maldon smoked sea salt
Method
Prepare your tumblers by running one of the squeezed lines around the rim of the glasses. Pour a tablespoon of Maldon smoked sea salt onto a plate and gently roll the rims into it to create a salty coating. Then fill the tumblers with ice
To make the margaritas, slice the jalapeño into roughly 3mm disks. Place 2-3 pieces (depending how spicy you like it) into a cocktail shaker. Gently crush using a pestle, end of a rolling pin or back of a spoon. Then fill the cocktail shaker with ice and add the lime juice, tequila and Cointreau. Shake well and strain into tumblers and finish with a slice of jalapeño.
If you do not have a cocktail shaker, you can use a jam jar and strain through a sieve.
