Wine bar, bakery and restaurant, Flor is the newest opening from the team behind Lyles. Set just off Borough Market, split over two floors with a bakery below, it is inspired by the buvettes of Paris and the wine bars of San Sebastian.

The food is perhaps more approachable than Lyles but the elegance of the menu is unmistakably James Lowe. Scarlett prawns with orange yuzu come pearly translucent crudo on one plate with the juicy heads on another. There is cutlery for the prawns but the heads must be eaten with your fingers. It's sexy, messy and wonderful.

The clam flatbread which has caused a united hurrah amongst critics is not to be missed and the list of must tries from the daily changing menu could go on; burrata, beans and peach with fennel blossom, mushroom tart, mackerel with green tomato and olive... It is seamless cooking from an impressively minute kitchen. The menu is sharing plate style but one could happily go solo for bread, butter, a glass of (very good) wine and their cod brandade with peppers. Be sure to save room for pudding or return for breakfast. Anna Higham - head of pastry is breaking hearts one lardy bun at a time.
